Air fried tandoori fish

Recipe

Ingredients:

– 4 fish fillets (tilapia, cod, or any firm white fish)
– 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
– 2 tablespoons lemon juice
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 2 tablespoons tandoori masala powder
– 1 teaspoon ground cumin
– 1 teaspoon ground coriander
– 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 1 teaspoon paprika
– 1 teaspoon garam masala
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon ginger powder
– Salt to taste
– Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish
– Lemon wedges for serving
– Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Marinade:
– In a large bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, tandoori masala powder, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric powder, paprika, garam masala, garlic powder, ginger powder, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

2. Marinate the Fish:
– Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
– Add the fish fillets to the bowl with the marinade, ensuring each fillet is well-coated with the mixture. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 1-2 hours, to allow the flavors to penetrate the fish.

3. Preheat the Air Fryer:
– Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.

4. Air Fry the Fish:
– Lightly spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray.
– Place the marinated fish fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
– Air fry the fish at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fish is cooked through and has a slightly charred exterior. The internal temperature of the fish should reach 145°F (63°C).

5. Garnish and Serve:
– Once the fish is cooked, remove it from the air fryer and place it on a serving platter.
– Garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

Storage and Reheating:

Proper storage and reheating can help maintain the delicious flavor and texture of your air fried tandoori fish. To store leftovers, allow the fish to cool to room temperature. Place the fish fillets in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. For longer storage, wrap the fillets tightly in aluminum foil and place them in a resealable freezer bag or airtight container, then freeze for up to 2 months. When you’re ready to enjoy your tandoori fish again, reheat it in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 5-7 minutes if refrigerated, or 10-12 minutes if frozen, until heated through and crispy. Avoid using the microwave, as it can make the fish soggy. Serve with fresh lemon wedges and enjoy the revitalized flavors of this tasty dish!
